Granulation or Coarse grinding size reduction is offered for raw materials in large forms such as sheets, lumps, purgings, cylinders, rods, tubes, blocks, bales, slabs etc.—most any shape, as well as for scrap materials to be recycled such as parts, sheets, pipe, profiles, bottles, etc. Large raw materials are generally granulated to a particle size of 3/8" but any size larger or smaller can be provided as needed. The granulated materials may be further pulverized when a finer powder is required. Cryogenics are used for granulation when needed for materials that are very soft or have low melting points.
Pulverizing or Fine size reduction is offered for raw materials in pellet, bead, chip, crumb, flake, or granulate form. Materials can be pulverized to the mesh or micron particle sizes required. Thermoplastics, thermosets, rubbers, and most any tough or soft material can be ground to mesh or micron particle sizes ranging from 6 - 200 US mesh or 3000 - 75 microns. The melting point and toughness of the material limit the fineness of the finished product powder size possible. Finer products can be produced from brittle, friable, and high melting point materials.
Fine size reduction with liquid nitrogen cooling is offered for any raw material in any form. Cryogenic grinding is necessary for materials with a low melting point or those that are very tough and difficult to grind fine without extra cooling to prevent melting.
Materials are usually sifted in line with grinding to control the upper or lower limit of the specified particle size. Sifting or screening to 1/2" down to 200 mesh or 12.5 mm to 75 microns is offered as a standalone service to separate oversize or undersize from powdered materials. Multiple-cut classifying is offered to separate powders into cuts or fractions of different specific particle size distribution ranges. Cryogenic screening can be done when needed for sticky or tacky materials.
Dry materials and additives can be blended in batches up to 5000 lbs. either before or after grinding or sifting. Blending is also offered as a standalone service for materials that do not require size reduction.
Finished products can be packaged in any container required, including Supersacs or Bulk bags, Gaylord boxes, Drums, Bags, etc. Re-Packaging only is also offered for any material from and into any containers.
Small samples for R&D purposes or small orders of material can be Granulated or Pulverized or Sifted or Screened with or without cryogenics as needed to most any particle size required.
